Blacks in Green is a community-based organization in the Southside of Chicago. It was founded in 2007 by Naomi Davis with the vision of creating thriving self-sustaining Black communities everywhere. This is the story of Davis' collaboration with the University of Michigan's Energy Equity Project in her journey to bring Blacks in Green to the helm of EPA Region 5’s Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Center (also known as an "EJ TCTAC", for short) unlocking major federal funding for strong community-based EJ work.
