In the Native Hawaiian language, the word "āina" means "land". Sustʻāinable Molokai is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community development organization committed to restoring ʻāina momona (thriving people and abundant land) to the Hawaiian island of Moloka‘i by uniting traditional practices with responsible, modern sustainability solutions. This is the story of the work that environmental justice SEAS students at the Tishman Center for Social Justice and the Environment are doing with Sustʻāinable Molokai leadership and local residents in order to support long-term land back, self-determination, and Indigenous-led climate resilience efforts.
